"Pearlie" was imported from Wales, from Deb Jones and Aled Owen when she was 10 weeks old. Her father, Gwyn, who Aled briefly and successfully trialed, is currently working on Aled's brothers farm. You can see him working in Aled's new DVD. He is also the sire of Aled's newest nursery dog, the execptional Mac (whose mother is a littermate to Tegwen). Her mother Tegwen is from the cross of International Sheepdog Champion Bob, and Lil, and is a talented and strong sheepdog.
Pearl is very sweet and devoted, extremely intense, lightening fast and responsive both physically and mentally. She is also very athletic, and incredibly intelligent and quick to learn. She is very easy to train and always wants to do whatever I want, sometimes too much! She has very nice feel for her sheep, natural square flanks, and excellent balance. Her intensity draws her in on her stock, so I am always holding her back so she can rate her stock properly. She has plenty of courage, and sheep don't challenge her. She is as comfortable in a packed stall as she is out in huge fields. This year will be her first season lambing, which should help round her out. I plan to debut her in USBCHA next year. She is maturing into an awesome agility dog as well, and is blazingly fast while still being able to collect, turn, and reaccelerate. She is quickly gaining my admiration!

July '05: Pearl's first exposure to sheep. She has plenty of power and push, that's for sure! For such an intense girl, she kept her sheep--ewes with lambs-- very calm.
